Zenhub Issues

Bring your teams together

Zenhub Issues enables devs and product owners to manage and track GitHub projects with non-technical teams, clients, and stakeholders in one centralized platform.

With great software comes great collaboration

Amazing software is built through collaboration with teams and stakeholders who live outside your code base — think design, IT, support, marketing, and clients. Zenhub Issues makes it easier for software teams to work together. Give your teams accurate project status and roadmap visibility without making your source code less secure or spending more money on GitHub licenses. It’s a win for everyone.

Everyone has a type

Zenhub has two types of issues to manage tasks. Need to track a developer-related task? Create a GitHub Issue. Need to manage a non-dev task? Create a Zenhub Issue. Finally, there’s a type for everyone. Toggle between creating GitHub and Zenhub Issues, write issue descriptions and add labels and assignees. It’s that easy.

Bring everyone on board

Make collaboration easy by giving non-dev teams and users access to your project management board without requiring a GitHub account. Track both Zenhub Issues and GitHub Issues on the same board moving issues from ‘to-do to done’. Plus, you can connect multiple boards and use a single issue across different teams.

Frequently asked questions

Zenhub Issues is a new issue management experience in Zenhub. Issues are similar to a ticket or a user story and represent a task or item of work that a software development team is working on.

Zenhub Issues are different than GitHub Issues–although you can use both in Zenhub. Zenhub Issues are a Zenhub entity and do not require a GitHub account to use. Issues are a great option for non-technical team members who don’t require access to GitHub and source code, like designers, leadership, and operations team members.

On the other hand, using GitHub Issues in Zenhub requires a GitHub account and to connect Zenhub with GitHub. We recommend technical team members who are working with code use GitHub Issues.

No, you do not need a GitHub account to use Zenhub Issues.

Zenhub Issues make it easier than ever for non-technical team members to have the right level of visibility into the software team’s work without having to pay for a GitHub license.

We understand that the security and privacy of source code is a top priority for software-focused organizations. The long-term vision for Zenhub is to enable secure collaboration with internal and external non-technical collaborators at your organization while still protecting your source code.

Currently, outside collaborators can only access source code if they are invited to the repository that contains it. Expect improvements in permissions in upcoming sprints.

At Zenhub, we take security seriously. As of August 2022, Zenhub is SOC 2 Type II certified. Learn more here.

With Zenhub Issues, it’s easier than ever to get started in Zenhub. You can start your two-week trial in just a few clicks without needing to connect with GitHub or have a GitHub account. Quickly get started byy creating your very own Zenhub Issues.

No, Zenhub Issues are now a staple feature in Zenhub and available with any of our plans under regular pricing. Our Growth plan is USD 8.33 per month per user, billed annually. Learn more about Zenhub pricing.

However, businesses that were paying for extra GitHub licenses for non-technical team members and collaborators to use Zenhub will no longer need these GitHub licenses, offering potential savings.

In the spirit of iterative software development, we wanted to launch Zenhub Issues as soon as possible, so you can start benefitting from them. While Zenhub Issues is ready to be used across your teams, there are a few features missing that will be coming very soon. In the next few months, look out for added permissions capabilities, comments functionality, the ability to attach attachments and convert a Zenhub Issue to a GitHub Issue, and more.

Have an idea for how to make Zenhub Issues better? We’re always welcome to new ideas. Feel free to leave us feedback on Zenhub’s Product Hunt.
